Richard Sherman hails "best teammates in the world"

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has heaped praise on his teammates ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl encounter with the Denver Broncos.

Sherman stole the limelight somewhat following the Seahawks' win over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC championship game, launching a post-match tirade that took the attention off his teammates.

As a result, a scrum of cameras and reporters gathered round Sherman to see what he had to say during Tuesday's media day, but he took the opportunity to praise his teammates.

"I really think these cameras should go to my teammates. Especially after Bobby Wagner's 15-tackle game in the NFC championship, Kam Chancellor's interception and multiple pass deflections and his 11 tackles," Sherman told reporters.

"I think these cameras could be around anyone. I think that what happened after the game, the situation that occurred, forced them to be around me and forced everybody's attention. But I think I have the best teammates in the world."

Sherman also said that he was "excited" at the prospect of testing his skills against the record-breaking offence of Peyton Manning and the Broncos.
