Pete Carroll unsure on Cliff Avril injury return date

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has admitted that he isn't sure when defensive end Cliff Avril will return from injury.

The Seahawks splashed out to land the former Detroit Lions man in free agency but he has struggled for fitness throughout the summer with foot and hamstring injuries.

"We don't know when he's going to get back," Carroll told ESPN.

Seattle open their regular season campaign at the Carolina Panthers on September 8.
