Rivers: 'Location has little bearing on future'

San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers has insisted that the club's location will have no bearing on his future with the team.

The Chargers have been touted with a move to Los Angeles in the near future, while the 33-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with Mike McCoy's men.

However, Rivers is adamant that a move away from San Diego would not act as a barrier to him signing a long-term contract to remain with the team.

"Is the location of this team going to be a deciding factor? I can't honestly tell you that it will be," Rivers told XEPRS-AM. "Is it a factor at all? Sure, but I can't tell you that it's at the top of the list, because it's just really not. That goes without saying I hope we're staying. But should we move, it doesn't move to the top of my list for deterrents for not being a Charger."

Rivers threw for 4,286 yards along with 31 touchdowns to 18 interceptions for the Chargers last season.
