John Pagano: 'We have to be physical against Baltimore Ravens'

San Diego Chargers defensive coordinator John Pagano is adamant that stopping the run game of the Baltimore Ravens will be crucial to his side's success in their match.

San Diego Chargers defensive coordinator John Pagano believes that it is critical that his side are physical against the Baltimore Ravens to stop their running game.

Ravens running back Justin Forsett has rushed for 903 yards and seven touchdowns this season in Gary Kubiak's zone run scheme, and Pagano is adamant that stopping the 29-year-old will be key to his side's success.

"You have to stay on your feet," Pagano told reporters. "The biggest thing is not only that lateral push they get stretching down the field, but they do such a great job of going to the next level and cutting people.

"So the biggest thing when you play against any zone blocking scheme is staying on your feet, watching the backside cut, and being able to play off of blocks like that. So that's very important to us, and making sure we knock them back."

The Chargers and the Ravens face off in their clash at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday.
