Ladarius Green: "Antonio Gates has been a great mentor"

San Diego Chargers tight end Ladarius Green reveals that teammates Antonio Gates has been a "great mentor" to him during his time at the club.

San Diego Chargers tight end Ladarius Green has revealed that he is delighted to be working with teammate Antonio Gates.

The 23-year-old has scored touchdowns in back-to-back games for the Chargers and appears to be the heir apparent to five-time All-Pro selection Gates.

Green told U-T San Diego: "Words can't explain how great it is playing with Antonio Gates.

"Just knowing all of the things he has done for this sport, as well as all the records he has broken, it's amazing just being on the same team as him.

"He has been a great mentor to me, giving me little tips on routes and different coverages. One of his greatest tips to me had to be telling me to just slow down and relax, not to rush anything, just play the game like I know how."

The Chargers face the New York Giants in their week 14 clash.
