Butler agrees new deal with Chargers

The San Diego Chargers have announced that linebacker Donald Butler has signed a multi-year contract with the club.

The 25-year-old's deal with the team was due to expire at the start of the new league year in March, but Mike McCoy's side have agreed a move to keep their signal caller on defense with them for the foreseeable future.

Butler wrote on Twitter: "Feeling blessed! Y'all heard it here first! Deal is done!! SD I aint going no where!! Too excited!!"

Butler had 85 tackles along with an interception in the 2013 season.
