San Diego Chargers' Danario Alexander tears ACL in training camp session

San Diego Chargers confirm that wide receiver Danario Alexander has torn his anterior cruciate ligament in a training camp session.

San Diego Chargers have confirmed that wide receiver Danario Alexander has torn his right anterior cruciate ligament in practice on Monday.

Alexander started six games for the Chargers last season and caught seven touchdowns in just 37 receptions in Philip Rivers's offense.

The 24-year-old was expected to be a starter for Mike McCoy's side this season, but this injury is likely to keep him out for the year, reports ESPN.

Alexander has had previous ACL injuries while in college when playing for Missouri.
