Ryan Mathews ruled out for San Diego Chargers

The San Diego Chargers will be without running back Ryan Mathews for their crucial AFC West clash against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 27-year-old has been ruled out with an ankle injury he sustained in his side's defeat to the New England Patriots in week 14.

Mike McCoy's side could also be without wide receiver Keenan Allen as he has been listed as doubtful by the club after he broke his collarbone against the Denver Broncos.

The Chargers need to beat the Chiefs to secure their place in the post-season for the second straight year.
