Steelers remove Ta'amu from PUP list

Pittsburgh Steelers have confirmed that they have removed defensive tackle Alameda Ta'amu from the physically unable to perform list.

The 22-year-old was put on the list ahead of the start of training camp with a hamstring injury.

However, he has now been cleared to participate in practice for Mike Tomlin's side after proving his fitness to the team, but is unlikely to play in their pre-season opener against the New York Giants on Saturday.

Ta'amu was selected 109th overall by the Steelers in the 2012 draft.
