Pittsburgh Steelers activate Matt Spaeth to 53-man roster

The Pittsburgh Steelers confirm that they have activated tight end Matt Spaeth to their roster from their injured reserve - designated to return list.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced that tight end Matt Spaeth has been activated to their 53-man roster.

The 30-year-old was placed on his side's injured reserve - designated to return list just before the start of the season with a foot injury.

However, he has made strides in his recovery and returned to practice without any further setbacks, and is now poised to play the remaining four games of the year.

As a result of the activation, the Steelers released fellow tight end Richard Gordon to make room for Spaeth on the roster.

The Steelers are 5-7 in their season going into week 14.
