Jordan Matthews: 'Philadelphia Eagles do not need number one wideout'

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews has dismissed the idea that he is the number one wideout at the club.

The Eagles have allowed DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin to leave their team over the past two seasons, leaving the NFC East side without a star player in their receiving corps.

However, Matthews has revealed that he would prefer he and his fellow receivers to be considered a strong unit rather than being defined by one player.

"People ask me about being the number one wide receiver. Forget it," he told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I want us to be a receiving corps. That's what I want it to be."

The 22-year-old recorded 67 receptions for 872 yards and eight touchdowns in his rookie season with the Eagles.
