Philadelphia Eagles' Chip Kelly pleased with pass rush despite defeat

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly admits that he was pleased with the number of times his side got to the quarterback in their defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has admitted that he was pleased with his side's ability to rush the passer in their defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Eagles sacked Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith five times at Lincoln Financial Field but were unable to stop him from throwing for 273 yards.

Kelly told reporters: "Pass defense, I've said before, is everybody. It's generating a pass rush, not letting the quarterback feel comfortable, being close in coverage. It's a combination of all those things.

"We did make an adjustment bringing Vinny [Curry] up and activating him, he had a pressure and a sack.

"Now [we are] going to play the best – if not, in the top-two or three in the league in quarterback Peyton Manning – so, again, I think it's a combination of all those things."

The Eagles are 1-2 in their season after week three.
