Dilfer: 'Foles will have a tremendous career'

Former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer has said that he expects Nick Foles to have a "tremendous career" with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Foles took over the starting quarterback role from Michael Vick during the 2013 NFL season, tying the record for most touchdown passes in a single game during the team's win over the Oakland Raiders.

Dilfer, who won a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens during his career, told reporters: "I look at Nick Foles having a tremendous career in Philly. Not just a good one, a tremendous one. I don't believe this year was a fluke by any stretch of the imagination.

"If there's a hole in his game, it's that he can be methodical at times. If he can get a little more twitch, the term I always use is sudden, a little more suddenness in his game, it'll just help him that much more.

"So much of this offense is about having a quick mind. Nick does a great job with that."

The Eagles won the NFC East to secure a place in the playoffs this season, but were beaten in the wildcard round by the New Orleans Saints last weekend.
