The New York Jets reveal that quarterback Mark Sanchez will miss his side's pre-season clash with the Philadelphia Eagles after picking up an injury.

The New York Jets have confirmed that quarterback Mark Sanchez will miss their final pre-season game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Sanchez went down with an injury during his side's victory over the New York Giants after taking a hit from Marvin Austin.

The 26-year-old underwent X-rays on his shoulder, but the Jets have yet to confirm how serious the injury is, stating that he is "day-to-day".

New York begin their regular season campaign on September 8 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
