New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie sustains sprained knee

New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie sustains a sprained knee, dispelling intial concerns of an ACL tear.

The New York Jets have announced that that the injury suffered by Antonio Cromartie in their season opener is not as severe as they feared.

The 31-year-old was carted off the field during the second quarter of the Jets' win over the Cleveland Browns, with what appeared to be a serious knee injury.

However, an MRI scan has determined that Cromartie sustained a sprained knee and may only miss two weeks as a result of the problem.

The Jets are next in action against the Indianapolis Colts next Monday.
