Ex-New York Giants star Tyler Sash arrested

Former New York Giants safety Tyler Sash has been arrested and charged with public intoxication and interference in Iowa.

According to ESPN, Sash led police on a drunken scooter chase, before being caught and shot with a Taser gun.

Sash was seen travelling on his motorised scooter by police during the early hours of Saturday morning. The 25-year-old had his lights off, and despite being asked to stop, the ex-Giant refused.

With authorities continuing to chase him, Sash fled on foot, hiding behind a tree before being caught.

Sash made 23 appearances for the Giants between 2011 and 2012 before being suspended for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

He was cut by the Giants prior to the 2013 season.
