New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is hoping to sign a long-term deal with the team before the start of the training camp.

Victor Cruz has revealed that he is still hoping to negotiate a long-term deal with the New York Giants in the coming weeks.

The wide receiver signed his restricted free agent tender on Friday, ensuring that he will remain with the NFC East side for the 2013 NFL season.

The 26-year-old told ESPN: "I'm going to sign my tender today and will continue talks for a long-term deal before camp starts."

NFL.com reports that the Giants have offered Cruz a contract worth $8m (£5.1m) per year, but the wideout is thought to be seeking a deal worth more money.
