Tom Coughlin ready to hand Andre Williams bigger role

New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin reveals that he has faith in his youngsters including running back Andre Williams.

New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin has revealed that he is ready to hand running back Andre Williams a bigger role with Rashad Jennings ruled out for at least a few weeks.

Jennings suffered an MCL sprain which in turn means that Williams will have an opportunity to add to his 20 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown.

Odell Beckham also impressed on his debut after he caught four passes for 44 yards and a jump-ball touchdown while guard Weston Richburg received praise for his performance.

"I am very confident [in Williams taking a bigger role]," Coughlin told reporters.

"When you have a young guy, you really get into great, great detail even more about pass protection. He has done a good job when he has been in there. He is going to have to do even better."

Williams also dismissed suggestions that he was a poor receiver after catching both of his passes in the win over the Atlanta Falcons.
