New Orleans Saints' Drew Brees: "I plan to and expect to start"

Brees: "I plan to and expect to start"

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has revealed that he expects to return to his side's lineup for their next match on Sunday.

The 36-year-old was ruled out of his side's defeat against the Carolina Panthers due to a shoulder injury and was replaced by Luke McCown, who put in a solid display in the Saints' loss at Bank of America Stadium.

However, Brees has admitted that he is making progress in his recovery and believes that he should be fit to return on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

"I don't know my situation this week. I'm day to day. I plan to and expect to start on Sunday but if I don't we're in good hands with Luke [McCown]," Brees told Cox Sports Television.

The Saints are 0-3 in their season ahead of week four.
