Report: Patriots re-sign linebacker Spikes

The New England Patriots have signed linebacker Brandon Spikes on a one-year deal, according to a report.

The 27-year-old played for the AFC East side for four seasons after being selected in the second round of the 2010 Draft by Bill Belichick's men.

However, he left the club on bad terms last year when he slammed his stay at the Patriots on Twitter before he joined the Buffalo Bills.

Spikes played just one season with the Bills before being allowed to leave the club, and has now rejoined the Super Bowl champions on a one-year deal, reports ESPN.

The Patriots released linebacker Cameron Gordon to make room for Spikes on the roster, while they also cut cornerback Chimdi Chekwa leaving them with one open spot.
