Malcolm Butler: 'I don't want one play to define my career'

New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler has insisted that he does not want his career to be defined by only his game-winning interception in the Super Bowl.

The 24-year-old made the pick that secured the Vince Lombardi trophy in their 28-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks, but is determined to be renowned for his all-round game, rather than just one play.

"I'm going to probably enjoy this moment, I'll never forget it," Butler told reporters.

"Probably for a couple more days or whatever, however it dies down. Have a little time to relax and then get back to work and just try to prove my point that this one play doesn't [define] me.

"I don't want to be known as a great player for one play, so I've got more to prove. So, I'll have a little relax time and get back to work."

Butler joined the Patriots as an undrafted rookie from West Alabama last year.
