Report: Andre Carter to sign with New England Patriots

The New England Patriots are reportedly poised to complete a deal to sign free agent defensive end Andre Carter.

The 34-year-old was released by the Oakland Raiders at the end of last season after just one year with the club.

Carter spent the 2011 campaign with the Patriots and notched up 10 sacks in 14 games, and now the club want to re-sign him to bolster their depth on their defensive line, according to ESPN.

The Patriots are 5-2 in their season after week seven.
