New England Patriots sign Justin Green to active roster

The New England Patriots have announced that they have signed rookie defensive back Justin Green to their active roster.

The 22-year-old was recruited as a free agent in July but was then placed on their practice squad at the end of training camp, where he has been since.

New England released running back Leon Washington to make room for Green on their 53-man roster ahead of their showdown with Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.

Bill Belichick's side are 7-3 in their season going into week 12.
