Bill Belichick silent on controversial call

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick remains silent on the controversial call that stopped his team getting another chance to win the game in their clash with the Carolina Panthers.

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has remained silent on the pass interference call that caused late controversy in his side's defeat to the Carolina Panthers.

The Patriots were driving late in the game trying to score a touchdown on the final play when Rob Gronkowski and Luke Kuechly tussled in the endzone and a flag was thrown as Robert Lester picked off Tom Brady's pass.

A flag was thrown by judge Terrence Miles but then he was overruled by referee Clete Blakeman, who said there was no foul on the tight end and ended the match.

"I don't really have any comment about today the officiating or any of those calls," Belichick told reporters.

"If you have any questions on that, you can talk to the league office, the officiating department, let them give their explanation on them.

"It's not really our job to call the games, it's to play it and coach it. There are calls they make, and those are the ones we live with. We can't let that affect what we're doing."

The Patriots are 7-3 in their season following their loss against the Panthers.
