Zimmer "hopeful" on Bridgewater fitness

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer is hopeful that Teddy Bridgewater will be fit for his side's clash against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday.

The quarterback was forced to leave the field in the fourth quarter of his side's win over the Atlanta Falcons with an ankle injury, in his first start in the NFL.

However, an MRI scan proved that there was no major damage to the ankle and the 21-year-old could be cleared to play at Lambeau Field.

Zimmer told reporters: "I hope so. I'm hopeful. He is doing a lot better today, so we'll see."

The Vikings are 2-2 in their season following their win over the Falcons.
