Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jerome Simpson has been arrested on probable cause of driving while impaired.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning in Minneapolis when a trooper of the Minnesota State Patrol responded to a report of a stalled vehicle in the a lane of Interstate 394.

Simpson took a series to tests and was then arrested and booked at Hennepin County jail as he reportedly refused to take a breath test.

The Vikings released in a statement: "The Vikings are aware of the matter involving Jerome Simpson.

"We are continuing to gather information and will have further comment at the appropriate time."

Simpson has made 33 receptions this season for 491 yards.
