Minnesota Vikings' Mike Priefer: 'Blair Walsh struggling for rhythm'

Priefer: 'Walsh struggling for rhythm'

Minnesota Vikings special-teams coordinator Mike Priefer has admitted that kicker Blair Walsh is struggling for rhythm in pre-season.

Walsh had an exceptional rookie year for the Vikings as he was voted to the NFL Pro Bowl and the All Pro team after setting a record for first-year kickers, converting 92.1% of his field goals from 38 attempts.

Priefer told reporters: "It takes a couple weeks of training camp to get back into the rhythm and timing to be successful.

"I think his mental toughness is better than a year ago because he missed the two and he said let's go back to 60 and then he drove one from 60. He doesn't blink. He misses one, he moves on."

Walsh was drafted 175th overall by the Vikings in the 2012 draft.
