Report: Mike Pouncey to miss start of season

Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Mike Pouncey is a doubt for the start of the NFL season after undergoing surgery on his hip, according to a report.

Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Mike Pouncey could miss the start of the NFL season, according to a report.

The 24-year-old has undergone surgery on his hip for a problem sustained during the off-season.

Pouncey is expected to be out of action for three months as he recovers from the operation, which could leave him doubtful for his side's opener against the New England Patriots on September 7, reports ESPN.

The Dolphins selected Pouncey 15th overall in the 2011 Draft and he has played 46 out of a possible 48 games in his three seasons with the club.
