Brent Grimes "optimistic" over new Miami Dolphins deal

Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes reveals that he is "optimistic" that he and the club can reach an agreement on a new deal for his return for the 2014 season.

Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes has revealed that he is confident that he will return to the club for the 2014 season.

The 30-year-old will be out of contract with the Dolphins on March 11 when the new league year begins, but he has revealed that there is a mutual interest between him and the team for his return.

"I'm pretty optimistic," Grimes told the Miami Herald. "They said they like me here and want to have me back.

"Hopefully, it happens sooner than later, and I don't have to worry about it."

Grimes recorded 60 tackles and four interceptions for his side in the 2013 campaign.
