Chiefs re-sign Parker on long-term deal

The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed defensive back Ron Parker on a long-term contract.

The 27-year-old joined the Chiefs in the 2013 season and became a regular in their defense last year as he started 15 matches for Andy Reid's men.

As a result, the AFC West outfit have re-signed Parker to a five-year contract worth $30m [£20.3m], with $8m [£5.4m] guaranteed, after initially allowing him to test the free-agent market.

Parker recorded 94 tackles, one sack and one interception in the 2014 season.
