Alex Smith relishing Kansas City Chiefs' perfect record

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith believes that his side are ready for the increased effort from opposition that comes with being the final unbeaten side in the NFL.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith has claimed that his side are ready for anything that the opposition can throw at them having moved to 8-0 for the season.

The Chiefs kept up their perfect record courtesy of a 23-17 win over the Cleveland Browns yesterday, with Smith throwing for 225 yards and two touchdowns.

The AFC West side are the last remaining unbeaten team in the league, and Smith is relishing the challenges that come with that as opponents try harder to become the first side to beat them.

"We love it. You want the stages to get bigger. That's why you put all the work in. You want this opportunity. You want that honour," Smith told the Associated Press.

"I mean, not that anybody sneaks up on anybody in this league, but yeah, we're the only undefeated team. I think that teams have recognized how we're playing and no question, they're coming prepared."

The Chiefs face the 3-5 Buffalo Bills in their next match on Sunday.
