Jags confirm Bryant signing

The Jacksonville Jaguars have confirmed the signing of veteran defensive end Red Bryant, with the player agreeing terms on a four-year contract following his release from the Seattle Seahawks.

Jaguars general manager David Caldwell said that Bryant would be a good addition to the club's defensive line, and that the fact that he has worked with head coach Gus Bradley before would be a big benefit.

"We're excited about the addition of Red to the defensive line," Caldwell told the Jags' official website.

"Red has been a productive player in the NFL. When he became available as a free agent, I went to Gus to see if this was a player that would fit into our culture.

"Gus was completely on board and spoke highly of what Red could add to our team on and off the field. We feel like we added another veteran presence along the line."

Bryant spent six years with the Seahawks following being drafted in 2008.
