Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne says that he is happy to continue competing to be the team's starter.

Chad Henne has said that he is happy to continue to compete to be the Jacksonville Jaguars' starting quarterback throughout the pre-season.

Head coach Gus Bradley named Henne and Blaine Gabbert as joint number ones on the team's depth chart for the first game of the pre-season.

The 28-year-old told the team's website: "That's what Coach Gus said from the beginning, that it's going to be a competition to the end. Whenever he feels it's time to make that decision, he's going to make that decision."

Bradley added: "There are days they both look good, and today I thought they did look good. I can say we're pleased with both's progress. I told you before, I like it like this.

"We as a team like it like this, we're highly competitive every day where they are concentrating on just trying to stay within themselves and do what they need to do. I think it's very healthy for the team."

The Jaguars play the Miami Dolphins on Friday.
