Trent Richardson still confident in his ability

Indianapolis Colts running back Trent Richardson is adamant that he is still the same quality player that saw him selected with the third-overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Indianapolis Colts running back Trent Richardson has insisted that he still has the quality that saw him picked third overall in the 2012 NFL Draft.

The 24-year-old has struggled during his time in the league after initially being selected by the Cleveland Browns two years ago, where he recorded 950 yards at an average of 3.6 yards per attempt.

Richardson was then traded to the Colts for a first-round pick in the 2014 Draft, and has continued to underperform, despite operating beside quarterback Andrew Luck.

"When I hear people talk down about me, I just laugh at them and I say, 'God bless you,'" Richardson told reporters.

"I want everybody to see and know that I'm still that running back, I'm still that guy that Cleveland chose with the third pick.

"A lot of people are saying Trent is a mistake and he was bad and he was that, but I'm telling you folks now, watch these next four weeks and see what happens."

Richardson has rushed for 445 yards this season along with three touchdowns.
