Colts trade for Richardson

The Indianapolis Colts have secured a move for running back Trent Richardson in a trade with the Cleveland Browns.

Chuck Pagano's side will give their 2014 first-round draft pick to the Browns for the former Alabama man.

Colts owner Jim Irsay tweeted that his side were about to pull off a "monster trade" and have duly landed the third overall pick in the 2012 Draft.

Richardson was in Cleveland for only a season where he ran for 950 yards and scored 12 touchdowns in a struggling side.

The Browns changed their front office in the off-season along with their head coach and the new regime have deemed that the 22-year-old could not be part of their future.

Richardson will go into the Colts' team to face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
