Vick Ballard: 'I want starting job back'

Ballard: 'I want starting job back'

Indianapolis Colts running back Vick Ballard has admitted that he wants to get his place back as the club's starter.

Ballard missed the majority of the 2013 season after tearing his ACL and saw his role taken by Donald Brown and Trent Richardson, whom the club used their first-round pick in the 2014 Draft to acquire.

Although Brown left the club during the off-season, the 23-year-old still has a battle on his hands to beat out Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw for the starting role.

"I understand the situation, but I was the starter before I got hurt," Ballard told reporters. "I would have done the same thing if I was the general manager.

"It's a business and at the end of the day, I understand what they did, but I want to be the H-back."

Ballard has rushed for 877 yards along with two rushing touchdowns in his two-year NFL career.
