Houston Texans cornerback Kareem Jackson signs a new four-year deal with the club.

Kareem Jackson has signed a new four-year deal with the Houston Texans.

The 26-year-old was due to hit the free-agent market on Tuesday, with his contract expiring after five seasons with the AFC South club.

However, the two parties have come to a long-term agreement to keep Jackson with Bill O'Brien's men as he has penned a four-year deal worth up to $34m [£22.6m], with $20m [$13.3m] of the contract guaranteed.

He said on Twitter: "Wow!!!! I can't begin to express how happy I am right now!! Definitely a great moment for me and my family right now!!!"

Jackson has recorded 241 tackles and 10 interceptions in his five years with the Texans.
