O'Brien will not name starting QB until Sunday

Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien has not confirmed who will be his side's starting quarterback for their week two match against the Carolina Panthers.

Starting signal-caller Brian Hoyer struggled immensely in the Texans' season-opening defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs and was pulled from the lineup in the fourth quarter for Ryan Mallett.

Mallett put in a strong display in his time on the field, raising questions over whether he will displace Hoyer as the starting QB for their second game of the campaign.

"I'm not going to make a big quarterback announcement today," O'Brien told reporters. "You'll have to wait for the first play of the Carolina game to see."

The Texans play the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday.
