Bob McNair: 'Johnny Manziel would have brought frenzy'

Houston Texans owner Bob McNair admits that the club decided against drafting Johnny Manziel because of the frenzy he would have brought with him.

Houston Texans owner Bob McNair has revealed that his side passed on the opportunity to draft Johnny Manziel because of the "frenzy" he would have brought to the club.

The 21-year-old was touted as one of the best quarterbacks available in the Draft due to his success and popularity in the college game with the Texas A&M Aggies.

"I knew with Manziel it would be a frenzy," McNair told reporters. "And probably even if he didn't succeed at being an outstanding NFL quarterback for a couple years, the fans would have been frenzied."

Manziel was selected 22nd overall by the Cleveland Browns.
