Kubiak: Hopkins has been "exceptional"

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak has hailed the performances of wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins in training camp as "exceptional".

The Texans signed the former Clemson man 27th overall in the 2013 draft and the 21-year-old has impressed during the early stages of his professional career.

Kubiak told the club's official website: "First off, my expectations for him are tremendous. That's why we drafted him. That's why we put him in the position we put him in very quickly.

He's going to play across from a great player. He's going to be a big part of our football team. He'll make us better and boy is he working toward doing that. He's been exceptional."

Houston were knocked out of the playoffs in the Divisional Round in the last campaign for the second successive season.
