Bill O'Brien: 'Jadeveon Clowney is not injured'

Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien is adamant that defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is fully healthy despite leaving his side's practice session early.

Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien has insisted that Jadeveon Clowney is fine after leaving practice early with an apparent injury.

The 21-year-old was seen icing his leg after leaving the field in discomfort, but O'Brien is adamant that soreness is to be expected as part of the rigours of training camp.

"He's out there and he wants to go every rep," O'Brien told the Houston Chronicle. "And I'm sure just like all the guys, after seven practices I'm sure he's a little sore and we'll just continue to manage him."

The Texans selected Clowney first overall in the 2014 Draft in May.
