McCarthy: 'We have to have a better start'

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has insisted that his side have to start the 2015 season better than their previous two campaigns.

The NFC North side have lost two of their opening three games for two successive seasons to leave them off the pace in the race for the number one seed in their conference.

McCarthy feels that the senior members of his squad need to work with the younger players to ensure the club have a fast start to the 2015 season.

"Obviously we need to start the season better," McCarthy told reporters. "[A] 2-2 [start] is not going to cut it this year.

"The young guys need to catch up. We're challenging the older guys to bring the younger guys up and then coach those younger guys in more of a one-on-one fashion.

"It's just finding as many different ways as you possibly can to motivate and continue to grow as a program."

The Packers lost in the NFC championship game in dramatic fashion to the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field.
