Jim Caldwell concerned about penalties

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell admits that he is worried about his side's disciplinary issues following their pre-season win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell has admitted that he is worried about the amount of penalties that his side accumulated in their pre-season win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Lions have been renowned for disciplinary issues over the past few seasons with defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh particularly guilty.

Caldwell has conceded that his side's problems with penalties are a worry with the regular season just two weeks away.

"I'm concerned about it, yes, 15 is way too many," Caldwell told reporters.

"It's painful now, as a coach, and it's one of those things that I think bothers you. And you've got to get it straightened out because they're preventable."

The Lions face the New York Giants in their season opener on September 8.
