Peyton Manning rebuffs legacy talk

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning declines to talk about his personal legacy ahead of his side's Super Bowl showdown with the Seattle Seahawks.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has rebuffed talk about building his legacy ahead of the Super Bowl this Sunday.

The 37-year-old has the chance to win the second Vince Lombardi Trophy of his 16-year NFL career and close the gap on his long-term rival Tom Brady, along with legend Joe Montana, who hold three and four Super Bowl rings respectively.

"I've been being asked about my legacy since I was about 25 years old. I'm not sure you can have a legacy when you're 25 years old. Even 37," Manning told reporters.

"I'd have to be, like, 70 to have a legacy. I'm not even 100 percent sure what the word even means."

Manning broke the single-season touchdown record along with the record number of passing yards in a single campaign this year.
