Denver Broncos place Montee Ball, Quinton Carter on injured reserve

Broncos place Ball, Carter on IR

The Denver Broncos have confirmed that they have placed running back Montee Ball and safety Quinton Carter on their injured-reserve list.

Ball has struggled with fitness since undergoing an appendectomy before the start of the season, and injured his groin in week three of the campaign.

The 24-year-old then re-aggravated the same injury on his return to the team in week 11 and has been placed on season-ending IR as a result.

Carter has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury he sustained in his side's win over the Kansas City Chiefs, after recording 21 tackles and one sack during the campaign.

The Broncos have moved Danny Trevathan back to the 53-man roster from IR to replace Ball, while tight end Dominique Jones has replaced Carter in the squad.
