New Orleans Saints beat Dallas Cowboys in overtime

The Dallas Cowboys need to win their last game of the regular season to seal a playoff place after losing to the New Orleans Saints.

The Dallas Cowboys' hopes of making the post-season playoffs took a blow with an 34-31 overtime loss to the New Orleans Saints.

A close-fought first two quarters saw the Saints take a narrow three-point lead at half-time.

Touchdowns from Pierre Thomas and David Thomas gave New Orleans a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter.

However, Tony Romo led the Cowboys comeback, throwing a last minute touchdown pass to Miles Austin to level the scores.

The Cowboys received the ball first in overtime but were unable to add to their score.

The Saints got the ball close enough for Garrett Hartley to kick a field goal to give New Orleans the win.

The loss means the Cowboys will need to beat NFC East leaders the Washington Redskins next weekend to stand a chance of making the playoffs.
