Jason Witten: 'Don't count Tony Romo out'

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witted says that he would not be surprised if quarterback Tony Romo plays this weekend.

Jason Witten has said that he would not be surprised to see Tony Romo play for the Dallas Cowboys this weekend.

The quarterback has a herniated disc in his back, but is receiving treatment in a bid to be able to play in the team's all-or-nothing meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday.

The tight end told ESPN: "I wouldn't count him out until he's out. There's no question. That wouldn't surprise me, but I do think obviously this is a different situation, [it] seems like, with the back and however that plays out.

"But you've got to prepare with Kyle [Orton] and go as if that's the case and then see how it plays out.

"Obviously for him and I, everything you've worked for [and] you've done over the course of a decade is for moments like this, and if he's not able to go, obviously that's a blow. But you want to do it for guys like that."

The Cowboys currently sit second in the NFC East, but can clinch the division with victory on Sunday.
