Romo: Cowboys "trying to do something"

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has admitted that the club are trying to take the step to the next level this season.

Romo said that despite the talks over money and new contracts, all the players will begin the new season giving everything for the club.

"More than anything, you just play this game to win," Romo told NFL.com. "You do everything in your power, no matter what happens around you with money or anything really, you're just going to play and you're going to give everything you've got and exhaust yourself.

"If you're doing anything different than that, you're just selling yourself and your team short. The money aspect of it doesn't change. We're trying to do something here, trying to take that next step."

Romo threw for 4,903 yards and made 28 touchdowns for the Cowboys last season.
