Jerry Jones: 'Jason Garrett will remain Dallas Cowboys coach'

Jerry Jones confirms that Jason Garrett will remain as Dallas Cowboys coach next season.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has given head coach Jason Garrett his support that he will remain in charge in 2014, whatever happens this season.

The Cowboys have struggled this season and currently are 5-5 for the season, but Jones has said that it is not make or break for the coach this term.

"It's not [an Armageddon year] for Jason, but I'm disappointed that we don't have a better record," Jones told Sportsnetwork.com. "But he has got us in position to win the division and got a team here that I firmly believe has the ability to be one of the better-playing teams at the end and in position to get in the playoffs.

"We see logically how to get in the playoffs, we have that, for all practical purposes, in our control. Now that's a pretty good spot to be in after 10 games. And so a lot of this story is to be played out. It does not have a bearing on whether or not he will be our coach next year."

The Cowboys take on the New York Giants in their next game.
