Dallas Cowboys place Brian Waters on injured reserve

Cowboys place Waters on IR

The Dallas Cowboys have confirmed that Brian Waters's season is over by placing him on injured reserve.

The team's owner, Jerry Jones, had indicated earlier this week that the right guard would miss the rest of the campaign with a triceps injury.

The NFC East side decided that the 36-year-old would need surgery to repair the muscle, but Waters sought a second opinion in a bid to continue playing this season.

Mackenzy Bernadeau will replace Waters in the team's starting lineup.
